5th Annual

Vermont Lakes Region Cycling Weekend

Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, 2008

About Us

The Poultney Rotary Club members handle the logistical details of the weekend.  Rotary is a 100 year old international organization with local chapters that organizes numerous events each year to raise funds for local community, youth and education projects.

The ride packet and ride leaders are courtesy of The Vermont Lakes Region Cycling Club, a group of loosely organized active cyclists who live in the Lakes Region.  While our numbers are small, we are an accomplished, fun loving group who never tire of riding on area roads and singing its praises.  Among our members are several with extensive cycling experience ranging from guidebook authors, charity ride organizers and race managers to simply enthusiastic cyclists.

All funds raised by this event go to the Poultney Food Shelf and educational programs supported by the Poultney Rotary Club.  The food shelf serves the communities of Poultney, Middletown Springs, and Hampton, New York and assists helps local residents requiring financial assistance for basic living expenses as well as making food available for families in need.  Recent programs include on-going college scholarships for Poultney High School graduates, new science equipment for the high school and new reference books for the local elementary schools.
